CHENNAI: Southern Railway’s Salem division has announced the permanent augmentation of three pairs of express trains to meet growing passenger demand.Nos. 16159/16160 Chennai Egmore – Mangalore Central Express has been augmented by one sleeper class coach (starting Sept 29 from Chennai; Oct 1 from Mangalore). Nos. 12243/12244 Chennai Central – Coimbatore Shatabdi Express will be augmented by one AC chair car starting Oct 1. Nos 22207/22208 Chennai Central – Thiruvananthapuram AC Express will be augmented by one AC 3-tier coach (starting Oct 2 from Chennai; Oct 4 from Thiruvananthapuram).
