COIMBATORE: The Coimbatore city police have registered a case against a 14-year-old boy and his father after a motorcycle ridden by the minor collided with a scooter at Gandhipuram here.According to police, the accident occurred on the 100 Feet Road around 5.35pm on Sept 22. The boy, with his father Vikram sitting on the pillion seat, was riding a motorcycle in a rash and negligent manner. The motorcycle collided with a scooter ridden by Sivakumar, 54, of Manjeshwari Colony near Kovilmedu.Due to the impact, Sivakumar fell on the road and suffered injuries on his right ankle and left elbow. He was taken to a private hospital for treatment. After treatment, Sivakumar lodged a complaint with the traffic investigation wing (east) on Tuesday.Police registered a case under sections 281 and 125(a) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Section 181(4) of the Motor Vehicles Act.Police have issued a stern warning to all parents not to allow minors without driving licences to drive vehicles.
