Chennai: Two men were arrested on charges of abducting and assaulting a 39-year-old lodge owner in Nolambur over a ₹15lakh debt. The two had also attempted to transfer ownership of his house in lieu of the debt.The complainant, Priyadarshan of Brindavan Avenue in Nolambur, had borrowed ₹22.5lakh from Senguttuvan to construct a lodge and repaid ₹7.5lakh. On May 29, three unidentified men approached Priyadarshan near his house, forced him into a car, assaulted him and took him to Senneerkuppam.Senguttuvan demanded Priyadarshan to transfer his house in lieu of the outstanding loan. The victim was later confined in a private lodge before being dropped near the Maduravoyal Bypass. Based on his complaint, Nolambur police registered a case under kidnapping and other relevant charges.Following an investigation, police arrested Vignesh, 34, and Kamal, 33, both from Senneerkuppam. The two were remanded in judicial custody. Police have launched a search for Senguttuvan and the other suspects.
