COIMBATORE: Tamil Nadu electricity and law minister C T R Nirmal Kumar on Saturday sought an apology from DMK president M K Stalin for his “derogatory remarks” about TVK’s Dharapuram candidate P Sathyabama. The minister stated that DMK is a menace to society and should be removed.Talking to reporters at Coimbatore International Airport, the minister alleged that the “real face” of Stalin was exposed during his campaign in Dharapuram on Friday. He said Stalin’s remarks about a dalit woman (Sathyabama) had drawn widespread condemnation. “He appears to have spoken out of frustration and without restraint. DMK will face defeat hereafter and will not taste victory. DMK is harmful to society,” he said.Nirmal Kumar alleged that DMK’s political chapter had ended and claimed that the party would face a situation similar to the present position of AIADMK within two years.Taking a dig at AIADMK general secretary and former chief minister Edappadi K Palaniswami, Nirmal Kumar said AIADMK had been reduced to “EPS AIADMK” and alleged that the party founded by MGR and strengthened by J Jayalalithaa had been brought to a dead end.He said DMK, AIADMK and BJP would contest the next election together.Nirmal Kumar denied the charge of Communist parties that TVK was distributing money to voters. “We do not give even a rupee for votes. There is no such practice in our party. Let them prove that money was distributed. Communist parties received wrong information from DMK,” he said.Responding to questions about power cuts and reports that industrial establishments had been advised to use generators, the minister said power supplied from Neyveli thermal power stations to the central grid had been suddenly disrupted. “We asked industries to use generators only as a precautionary measure. We have not imposed any power cuts on industries,” he said. The minister was here en route to Dharapuram to campaign for TVK candidate in the Oct 6 bypoll.
