CHENNAI: PMK president Anbumani Ramadoss is set to continue as party president for another year as the party’s general council (GC) unanimously elected Anbumani as the party president. The incumbent general secretary Vadivel Ravanan and treasurer M Thilagabama will also continue as general secretary and treasurer for another year. This was the first GC meeting held after PMK founder S Ramadoss announced his retirement from politics. After Ramadoss and Anbumani decided to end their 20 months of difference and joined hands, the general council meeting had the presence of more than 3,000 members, held in Mahabalipuram. Most of the supporters of Ramadoss except former PMK president G K Mani and former MLA R Arul were present at the general council meeting. PMK’s first president Dheeran, who was with Ramadoss, also attended the GC meeting.
