Dharmapuri: A man died after a speeding car hit him while he was walking on the national highway (NH) near Palacode in Dharmapuri district on Tuesday.The deceased has been identified as M Sekar, 33, of Eruthukudahalli. He was a mason. He is survived by his wife, Amsavalli, three daughters, and a son.Police said a car heading from Bengaluru towards Coimbatore when hit Sekar near the Kombanayakkanalli Muniyappan temple. “Sekar suffered severe injuries and died on the spot,” said a police officer from Palacode station. He added that the car driver fled the spot.Police recovered the body, and sent it to the Palacode government hospital for a postmortem. A case has been registered and further investigation is on. Efforts are also on to identify and trace the car and the driver involved in the hit-and-run.
