CHENNAI: Southern Railway has announced bi-weekly special trains connecting Chennai Central and Kollam from August 13 to September 6 to accommodate the increased passenger demand during the upcoming Onam festival. Train no. 06117 (Chennai Central – Kollam) will depart from Chennai Central at 11.50pm every Thursday and Saturday from August 13 and reach Kollam at 4.20pm the following day. In the return direction, train no. 06118 (Kollam – Chennai Central) will leave Kollam at 6.45pm every Friday and Sunday from August 14 and reach Chennai at 11.35 am the next day. The special services will be routed through key stations including Jolarpet, Salem, Erode, Tirupur, and Podanur.
