Chennai: A history-sheeter in Sembium was arrested after his mother lodged a complaint accusing him of repeatedly assaulting and threatening her under the influence of alcohol.Police said Amarnath alias Appu, 29, a resident of Perambur, who has more than 10 criminal cases pending against him, frequently came home drunk and assaulted his family members, including his mother, Rockwell, 48. The complainant told police that she could no longer endure the repeated abuse and sought action against her son. Based on Rockwell’s complaint, Sembium Inspector Gopal arrested Appu, produced him before a magistrate court and remanded in judicial custody.
