Erode: A 65-year-old farmer died after being bitten by a snake while he was working in his agricultural field in J Chettipalli village in Erode district on Tuesday morning.Police said the Naga Naikkar was engaged in agricultural work around 6.45am when the snake bit him. “Hearing his cries, nearby villagers rushed to him and took him to the Thalavadi govt hospital,” said K Palani, a villager. Later, he was referred to Chamrajnagar Govt Hospital, where he died.Naga Naikkar is survived by his wife Chinnammal.The Thalavadi police registered a case.
