Krishnagiri: A 55-year-old farmer died and three of his family members were injured after their car went out of control and crashed into a tamarind tree near Pochampally in Krishnagiri district on Monday.The deceased was identified as P Annadurai, 55, of Pannialli village near Pochampally. Police said he was travelling in a car with his wife Sankari, daughter Pavithra and granddaughter to his daughter’s house when the accident took place near Appukottai in Chellampatti panchayat.Preliminary investigations revealed that Annadurai likely suffered sudden chest pain while driving. “He lost consciousness, causing the vehicle to veer to the right side of the road before crashing into a tree,” said a police officer from Nagarasampatti station. Locals rushed to their rescue and called for an ambulance.All four were rushed to a private hospital in Pochampally for treatment. However, Annadurai succumbed to injuries despite treatment. His wife Sankari, daughter Pavithra and granddaughter, who sustained head injuries, are undergoing treatment.Nagarasampatti police have registered a case and are investigating further.
