Lokesh Kanagaraj‘s ‘DC’ has retained a clear advantage over R. Madhavan‘s ‘GDN’ at the box office. The movie has completed seven days in theatres with a worldwide gross of Rs 64.38 crore.The film recorded Rs 3.90 crore in India net collections on its first Thursday. According to Sacnilk, the Day 7 figure represents a 25.7% decline from the Rs 5.25 crore collected on Wednesday.‘DC’ was screened across 4,611 shows on Day 7. Its total India net collection has now reached Rs 41.65 crore. The domestic gross collection stands at Rs 47.88 crore.

Overseas market boosts ‘DC’ worldwide total

The Lokesh Kanagaraj directorial has also benefited from its overseas performance. ‘DC’ added Rs 1 crore to its overseas gross on Day 7.The movie’s cumulative overseas gross has reached Rs 16.50 crore. When combined with its domestic gross, the worldwide collection stands at Rs 64.38 crore.The Tamil version earned Rs 2.70 crore on Day 7. The Telugu version added Rs 1 crore, while the Hindi version collected Rs 20 lakhs.

Tamil version records strongest occupancy

The Tamil version registered an overall occupancy of 28.69% on its seventh day. Morning shows recorded 20.38% occupancy. Afternoon shows registered 26.31%, while evening shows recorded 24.23%.Night shows delivered the strongest occupancy for the Tamil version at 39.31%. The Telugu version recorded an overall occupancy of 18.23%. Its morning occupancy stood at 15.90%, while afternoon shows recorded 19.50%. Evening shows registered 13.30%. Night shows reached 24.20%.The Hindi version had an overall occupancy of 8.51%. Its morning shows recorded 8.67%, followed by 7.83% in the afternoon. Evening occupancy stood at 7.08%, while night shows registered 7.33%.

‘DC’ posts steady numbers across states

Tamil Nadu, the main belt, generated Rs 1.50 crore in gross collections on Day 7. Kerala followed with Rs 1.31 crore. Andhra Pradesh and Telangana together contributed Rs 1 crore. Karnataka added Rs 40 lakhs, while the rest of India contributed Rs 25 lakhs.The combined state-wise gross collection for the seventh day stood at Rs 4.46 crore.

‘GDN’ continues with modest collections

Meanwhile, R. Madhavan’s ‘GDN’ is recording much smaller numbers during the same period. The movie has collected Rs 4.31 crore in India net so far. Its India gross currently stands at Rs 4.84 crore, as reported by Sacnilk.The worldwide gross is also Rs 4.84 crore, with no overseas collection reported so far. The Tamil version has contributed Rs 3.90 crore to the movie’s overall India net collection.On Day 7, the Tamil version earned Rs 29 lakhs. It had collected Rs 36 lakhs on the previous day. The Telugu version has accumulated Rs 41 lakhs overall. Its Day 7 net collection stood at Rs 5 lakhs, compared with Rs 3 lakhs on Day 6.As both movies complete their opening week, it’s clear from the reports that ‘DC’ has established a significant lead over R.
