Coimbatore: The Coimbatore city municipal corporation inaugurated a bamboo park at SIHS colony near Singanallur on Saturday. Minister for backward classes V Sampath Kumar inaugurated the park which has been built at a cost of ₹2.36 crore.The park spread across 4.26 acres is designed as an integrated public space promoting recreation, fitness, cultural activities and environmental conservation for people of all ages. Out of the total area, around 2.26 acres is reserved for gardens and bamboo planting.The bamboo features landscaped gardens, extensive bamboo plantations, paved areas, walking tracks, a children’s play zone, a yoga space, an open-air auditorium, parking and public amenities.The park also provides space for car parking. Other facilities include a toilet block, a security room and kiosk.
