Centre to fully subsidise stall fee for 60 MSMEs at Tirupur’s KnitShow expo

Tirupur: The Union govt has earmarked a 100% stall fee subsidy for 60 micro and small enterprises participating in the 24th edition of the KnitShow textile technology exhibition, scheduled to be held at the Top Light venue in Tirupur Aug 21 to 23. Eligible firms will also receive an incentive grant of up to Rs 25,000.According to exhibition organiser H Krishna, the subsidy support is being extended through the ministry of micro, small and medium enterprises to encourage manufacturing units to participate in trade exhibitions.The expo will have around 500 stalls, with more than 1,000 leading brand companies and thousands of products and technologies on display. Live demonstrations will allow visitors to see machinery operations in action.Krishna said the exhibition has been serving as a platform for companies to launch new machinery, introduce global technologies to the Indian market and build new business partnerships. The govt has been introducing new textile manufacturing technologies nationwide, including value-added garment production, textile manufacturing upgrades and advanced printing solutions.He said the Tirupur edition would feature expanded screen-printing technology alongside a wide range of modern manufacturing solutions.Krishna said India’s ongoing free trade agreements are opening fresh opportunities for apparel exports and intensifying competition. He noted that companies targeting global markets can no longer rely only on low pricing and must focus on higher product quality, lower production costs and faster delivery, supported by automation, sustainable manufacturing, traceability, smart factory systems and AI-based quality control.
