58 students get admission for higher education through special grievance redressal camp in Coimbatore

COIMBATORE: Fifty-eight students have got admission orders for higher education through a special grievance redressal camp conducted by the Coimbatore district administration, according to officials. The grievance camp for students who completed Class XII in the 2025-26 academic year was held at the district collectorate on July 10, in the presence of collector Pavankumar G Giriyappanavar. A total of 273 students and their parents participated in it. Of them, 71 students applied for various certificates, 85 applied for educational scholarships, and 67 collected details related to education loans. For immediate admissions, 49 students reported and 33 were granted on-the-spot admissions.Based on petitions received at the camp, a follow-up event was held at the collectorate on Tuesday in the presence of the collector, where Rs 1 lakh was distributed as educational assistance to 14 students, required certificates were issued to six students, and admission orders for higher education were given to 25 students.Most of the 58 students got admission in govt colleges while a few of them in aided colleges.On Wednesday, at the Government Higher Secondary School in Kannampalayam, Sulur, a private trust provided Rs 3 lakh as educational assistance to 45 students who have completed Class XII and are set to join higher education. The total assistance extended so far stands at Rs 9.5 lakh for 101 students, according to district education officials.
