PALANI: The registration department has constituted a six-member special audit team to scrutinise all documents registered during the tenure of suspended sub-registrar Justin Manikandan in the Palani Registration District.According to the order, the audit will cover every document registered from February 5, 2024, when Justin Manikandan assumed charge as sub-registrar of the Palani Registration District, until the date of his suspension.The special audit team comprises Swaminathan, deputy inspector general of registration, Tirunelveli; Srinivasan, assistant inspector general of registration, Sivaganga; Geetha, sub-registrar, Salem West; Gaja Muhaitheen, sub-registrar, Virudhunagar; Mohanraj, assistant, Virudhunagar sub-registrar’s Office; and Muthukrishnan, assistant in the office of the deputy inspector general of registration, Tirunelveli.The team has been directed to examine all documents allegedly registered in violation of Section 22A of the Registration Act, assess any loss caused to the government during Justin Manikandan’s tenure, and submit its special audit report within three days.
