Coimbatore: The city police’s prohibition enforcement wing (PEW) arrested a 32-year-old man and seized 22kg of ganja from his car on Thondamuthur Road near Vadavalli on Saturday.The arrested has been identified as J Shelton, 32, of Kannimar Koil Street near Devarayapuram in Thondamuthur. He was apprehended when a police team intercepted the vehicle around 11.30am, following a tip off. Police found ganja concealed in the car and seized both the contraband and the vehicle.Meanwhile, an officer from the PEW wing said Shelton was a major supplier of ganja in Coimbatore. “He was procuring it in large quantities from other states and supplying it locally,” the officer said.Shelton was later produced before a court and remanded in judicial custody.
