CHENNAI: TVK chief C Joseph Vijay on Friday appointed 15 deputy general secretaries, including 11 former AIADMK ministers and J Sundeep Anand, son of DMK MP Jagathrakshakan.Congratulating the new appointees, Vijay said they would work alongside the functionaries appointed earlier to carry out the party’s constructive activities in accordance with his directions and advice, and under the guidance of general secretary N Anand. “The party cadres should extend full support to these functionaries,” Vijay said. The appointments were announced amid the bypolls, in which AIADMK MLAs who defected to the TVK are contesting.The former AIADMK ministers appointed as deputy general secretaries are M S M Anandan, M C Sampath, K Radhakrishnan, K V Ramalingam, M Anandan, Kadambur C Raju, K T Pachaimal, Vellamandi N Natarajan, N R Sivapathi, Vaigai Selvan and S Valarmathi.Vijay created a new district unit, Tirupur Suburb South district, comprising the Madathukulam assembly constituency. Former AIADMK MLA C Mahendran, who won the seat, has been appointed its district secretary.
