COIMBATORE: A private school teacher was arrested by the Coimbatore city police on Friday on charges of sending obscene videos and to his students.The arrested teacher has been identified as V Babu, 35, a native of Dindigul district. He is residing here and working as an English teacher at a private school located in Kalapatti. Babu was taking classes for students from Class IX to XII. According to sources, he was close to some male students and connected with them on a social media platform. He used to send obscene videos and pictures to the students’ Instagram accounts, they said. On Thursday, the parents of a student saw the pictures and videos in the students’ account. She inquired with his friends’ parents and found that Babu had sent the content to a few students. The parents took this matter to the school management. The management alerted police.The East all women police registered a case against Babu under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and arrested him. He was remanded in judicial custody.
