Mani Ratnam’s Suriya-Dhanush film
According to Maalaimalar, Mani Ratnam has approached both Suriya and Dhanush with a story that brings them together as leading characters. Both actors are said to have expressed interest in the project and agreed to the story. Talks about their salaries and shooting dates are still going on. If the discussions reach a positive conclusion, the makers could announce the film officially in the coming days. The project could become Suriya’s 49th film and Dhanush’s 57th outing, depending on their respective film schedules. The reported collaboration is particularly exciting as the two stars have not previously shared screen space in a full-length film.
Suriya praises Dhanush at ‘Scene’ event, thanks him for Diwali release support
Meanwhile, Suriya recently praised Dhanush while speaking at the promotional event of his upcoming film ‘Scene.’ The actor thanked Dhanush for postponing the release of his film The One to avoid a clash with Scene during the Diwali season. Suriya expressed gratitude to distributors and theatre owners for supporting the film alongside other festive releases. His remarks have also brought attention to the warm relationship between the two actors, adding another interesting angle to the reports about their possible collaboration with Mani Ratnam.
Suriya and Dhanush’s film could become a major Tamil Cinema collaboration
Suriya has previously worked with Mani Ratnam in ‘Nerukku Ner’ and ‘Aayutha Ezhuthu,’ while Dhanush has been associated with discussions about collaborating with the filmmaker in the past. However, those plans did not materialise. If the latest project takes shape, it could bring together three major names in Tamil cinema for an ambitious two-hero film. For now, fans will have to wait for an official confirmation regarding the project.
