TIRUVALLUR: All government liquor shops and attached bars within 5km of the Andhra Pradesh border in Tiruvallur district will remain closed temporarily ahead of the local body elections in Chittoor district.Tiruvallur collector S Kavitha has ordered the closure of TASMAC retail outlets and their attached bars in the border areas from 5pm on Tuesday, November 3, to 5pm on Thursday, November 5.The outlets will also remain closed on Saturday, November 7, the day of counting.The collector waraned that outlets, including TASMAC shops and bars, violating the order would face action under the Tamil Nadu Liquor (Licence and Permit) Rules, 1981.
