1,547 apply for Tamil Nadu govt’s civil services examination incentive scheme in Coimbatore

COIMBATORE: As many as 1,547 candidates have applied in Coimbatore for the evaluation test for Tamil Nadu govt’s UPSC Civil Services Examination incentive scheme.The scheme is aimed at increasing the participation of the youth in UPSC exams.The evaluation test will be conducted at six centres in the city from 10am to noon on Sept 6. Officials said enhanced security arrangements, similar to those for govt examinations, would be in place.The state govt has announced that aspirants preparing to appear for the UPSC preliminary examination in 2027 can apply for the evaluation test for a monthly incentive of Rs 7,500. Based on the test, 1,000 candidates will be selected to receive the incentive for 10 months. Candidates who clear the UPSC preliminary examination and qualify for the mains will receive Rs 25,000. Those who qualify for the interview will receive Rs 50,000, with the state govt continuing support until they join service.Admissions to the civil services coaching centres functioning under the Anna Institute of Management would be given based on the scores obtained in the evaluation test.
