Coimbatore: The Kinathukkadavu police on Friday arrested two individuals, including a minor, in connection with the brutal murder of a 22-year-old labourer at Sikkalampalayam in Coimbatore district on Thursday.The arrested have been identified as Mathesh, 21, and a 17-year-old juvenile. They were arrested from their hideout near the railway tracks in Kinathukadavu.The arrest follows the gruesome murder of S Ashwin, 22, of Kamaraj Colony in Solavampalayam, in the early hours of Thursday. The duo had recorded the brutal assault on a mobile phone and clicked photographs with the body.“Investigation revealed that the deceased had assaulted the duo on Wednesday after they refused to buy him alcohol. They duo murdered him in revenge,” said an officer.Meanwhile, police said Matesh fractured a hand when attempting to flee during the arrest. He was taken to the district headquarters hospital in Pollachi before being transferred to Coimbatore Medical College Hospital for treatment.
