Chennai: Passengers travelling between Chennai Egmore and Tiruchchirappalli this month will face diversions, delays and revised timings as Southern Railway has announced changes to train services due to a Fixed Time Corridor Block for safety and maintenance works in Tiruchchirappalli Division.The Chennai Egmore–Tiruchchirappalli Cholan Superfast Express (Train No. 22675), which normally runs through the Delta route via Chidambaram, Sirkazhi, Mayiladuthurai, Kumbakonam and Thanjavur, will be diverted on six days.On August 5, 12, 14 and 21, it will run via Cuddalore Port and Vriddhachalam, bypassing nine stations, including Chidambaram, Mayiladuthurai, Kumbakonam and Thanjavur.On August 26 and September 2, the train will instead take the Villupuram–Vriddhachalam route, skipping Panruti, Cuddalore Port and the Delta section.To compensate, additional halts have been provided at Vriddhachalam, Ariyalur, Lalgudi and Srirangam.The Jodhpur–Mannargudi Express will be delayed by one hour between Chennai Egmore and Mundiyampakkam on August 6, 20 and 27.Meanwhile, the Tiruchchirappalli–Chennai Egmore Cholan Superfast Express (Train No. 22676) will leave Tiruchchirappalli at 12.45pm instead of 12.10pm on August 4, 11 and 18.
