Erode: Chief minister C Joseph Vijay would take steps to regularize the jobs of contract sanitation workers in Tamil Nadu, handlooms and textiles minister Vijay Balaji said on Wednesday.The minister was speaking to reporters in Erode after inaugurating a medical camp for sanitation workers and their families. He said, “Immediate action will be taken if there are complaints about the quality of breakfast provided to sanitation workers or about the lack of adequate equipment.”He said the chief minister would reveal within two days the changes in the design of free dhotis and saris distributed to the public ahead of Pongal.Asked about the unsold textile products in places like Chennimalai, the minister said review meetings would be conducted to assess the stock that had remained idle for the past five years. “Decisions will be made on how best to distribute them free of cost to people,” he said.(Photo: S Parthiban)
