Krishnagiri: Police seized 3kg of ganja at the Jujuvadi check post near Hosur in the early hours of Monday. The contraband was being smuggled in a private luxury bus bound for Chennai from Bengaluru. A youth has been arrested in connection with the case.The seizure was made when a team led by special sub‑inspector (SSI) K Nagaraj, head constable Vallal, and special police force constable Sabari conducted inspections at the check post. They stopped a KBS Travels bus coming from Madiwala, Bengaluru, and checked passengers’ bags.Police recovered 3kg of ganja from the baggage of a passenger identified as P Vishnu, 23, from Tiruvallur district. “During preliminary interrogation, Vishnu confessed that a man named Saran had handed him the contraband near the P.T.M. Layout bus stop in Madiwala, Bengaluru, and instructed him to deliver it to Chennai,” the SSI said.Police arrested the youth and seized the ganja. He was later handed over to Hosur SIPCOT police for further action.Meanwhile, a case has been registered, and further investigation is underway to trace Saran and the network behind the smuggling operation.
