Erode: A 66-year-old man died after his two-wheeler skidded on sludge formed in rain and hit a wire fence and stone on Erangattur-Bhavanisagar state highway near Bhavanisagar here on Monday night.The Bhavanisagar police identified the deceased as Sundaram, a resident of Erangattur Weavers’ Colony in their jurisdiction. According to a police officer, the accident occurred when Sundaram was riding his bike on the state highway during rain. “The vehicle got stuck on roadside sludge and he lost control over the bike, which hit a wire fence and a stone. Sundaram suffered serious head injuries and died on the spot.” When alerted, the Bhavanisagar police sent the body to the govt hospital at Sathyamangalam for an autopsy. Police have registered a case and further inquiry is on.
