Chennai: Three men, including a key suspect in a drug peddling case racket, were arrested by the Kannagi Nagar police after a raid at Masjid Nagar on Saturday. Police seized 1.5kg of ganja and 40 narcotic tablets.Based on a tip-off, a police team led by inspector S Saravanan conducted a raid and arrested Vignesh alias Vigna, 30, and Velayudham, 23, both residents of Kannagi Nagar. During interrogation, the accused disclosed that they procured the ganja from the Retteri area in North Chennai and sold it in packets of 10g for ₹500 each.Further inquiry revealed that the gang also sourced narcotic tablets and other contraband from Mumbai for distribution in the city.The team subsequently tracked down an absconding suspect, Premkumar, 24, a key supplier in the network. All the three accused were produced before a magistrate court and remanded in judicial custody.
